TL;DR — Your Data Stays Yours

  • Your chat data is stored in your Google Drive
  • Index and cache stay in your local browser
  • We do not have a server that stores your data

1. Data Collection

This application accesses Google User Data to provide its core functionality. Specifically, we access:

  • Google Drive Files: We access only the files and folders created by this application (ChatShuttle_Memories). We do not have access to your other Drive files.
  • Google User Identity: We access your email address and profile profile information to verify your identity and manage your Pro license status.

2. Data Usage

How we use, process, and handle the Google User Data we access:

To Store and Sync Your Chats

We use the Google Drive API to read and write your chat export files. This allows you to back up your conversation history and sync it across your devices.

To Verify Your License

We use your Google Account email address to check if you have an active "Pro" license (via Lemon Squeezy).

Local Processing Only

All data processing (parsing chat ZIPs, searching history, generating embeddings) happens locally in your browser. We do not send your chat content to any external server for processing.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored in two locations:

  • Google Drive (Cloud): Your chat files and images are stored directly in your own Google Drive. You retain full ownership and control over these files.
  • Browser (Local): A search index and temporary cache are stored in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) for performance. This data never leaves your device.

We do NOT operate a database that stores your chat content or personal information.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your Google User Data with third parties.

The only exceptions are essential service providers:

5. AI Training
